Beyond the City Walls

October 7, 2004

Journey outside of New York City for these two events featuring SVA artists: Vivian Massry (MFA 2004 Fine Arts) has work in “The Space Between Words” at Kean University in Union, NJ; October 11 – November 13; reception: Tuesday, October 12, 5 – 7pm. (www.kean.edu). Also, Alexis Rockman (BFA 1985 Fine Arts) and Illustration and Cartooning Department Chair Thomas Woodruff are part of “Birdspace: A Post-Audubon Artists Aviary,” at the Hudson River Museum, 511 Warburton Avenue in Yonkers, October 9, 2004 – January 9, 2005.

And even further out, way out in the Internet: Art History Department Chair Suzanne Anker’s “Bio-Blurb Show” is on WPS1 Web radio, the online world’s only 24-hour-a-day art-focused radio station. Anker looks at the growing trend between art and science, hosting a roundtable discussion of the art-tech topics of the day. Tune in to pre-recorded programs at www.wps1.org/include/shows/bio_blurb.html.
