As professional baseball begins to move towards its championship games, SVA alum Scott Carpenter (BFA 1994 Fine Arts) is unveiling his new baseball-themed exhibition, “American Triptych.” The nine paintings and objects that comprise the exhibition – including handcrafted baseball gloves – focus on the interrelation of American culture, American history and baseball. Throughout October, “American Triptych” will be on display at the Old Stone House of Brooklyn, 336 Third Street, a famous site that has played pivotal roles in both the Revolutionary War’s Battle of Brooklyn and the Brooklyn Dodgers baseball club. The exhibition is open Friday – Sunday, 11am – 4pm; admission is free.
