Artwork at Work

September 16, 2004

Last year, SVA’s Office of Career Development created a new program called HireEd, a series of workshops and presentations designed to help students develop a top-notch job search. Starting from freshman year and continuing on beyond graduation, HireEd lends a hand with turning a student’s art into a career as a professional artist.

The series kicks off this semester with Get Ready, Get Set, Go! (Tuesday, September 28, 6:30 – 8pm, SVA Amphitheater, 209 East 23rd Street, third floor ), a workshop on writing an effective resume and preparing for the upcoming Industry Fair. The fair, which is sponsored by job-search company Aquent, will allow students to meet with representatives from over 40 companies on Friday, October 8, 10am – 2pm, at the Art Directors Club, 106 West 29th Street. For more information on these events and other upcoming HireEd workshops, contact the Office of Career Development at 212.592.2372.
