Marshall Arisman, MFA Illustration as Visual Essay Department chair, and the 2003 Master Series Award recipient, has recently produced a new body of work. Cobalt Blue: True Stories About the Art World is a newly released CD featuring Arisman as storyteller along with musician Chuck Hammer, an old friend of Arisman’s and the former guitarist for David Bowie, Lou Reed and Laurie Anderson. The CD presents 30 minutes of continuous storytelling with original music composed and performed by Chuck Hammer—and occasionally featuring Arisman on saxophone. Cobalt Blue costs $10 and can be purchased through the MFA Illustration as Visual Essay Department by calling 212.592.2210. Checks should be made out to the Visual Arts Foundation. All proceeds from the CD benefit the MFA Illustration Scholarship Fund.
