The artwork by students from SVA will be in the company of work from over 120 prestigious artists and galleries at the October 2003 Affordable Art Fair. SVA was the only college accepted to participate in the exhibition and sale of work at this year’s fair. The event was launched in 2002 to meet – as its name suggests – the demands of people looking to buy quality artwork at reasonable prices. The SVA Office of Student Galleries selected five students to represent the range of artwork produced at the College: Chiara Alberetti (MFA 2003 Fine Arts), Michelle Mercurio (MFA 2003 Photography), Sungmin Moon (MFA 2003 Fine Arts), Bo Offenbaker (BFA Fine Arts senior) and Manuela Paz (BFA 2003 Photography). Artwork will be available, priced between $100 and $5,000 in all media, including drawing, painting, photography and sculpture. The fair will be held October 30 through November 2, at Pier 92 on the Hudson River, and will offer numerous free events including lectures, printmaking and sculpture demonstrations and guided tours. Please visit the fair’s web site for admission details.
