  • Digital Installations (BFA Fine Arts). February 13 – March 1; Reception (rescheduled): February 25, 5 – 7pm; Visual Arts Gallery, 137 Wooster Street.
  • Director/producer/writer Sidney Lumet, perhaps the quintessential New York City filmmaker, will be at SVA for a Q&A with Film, Video and Animation Department chair Reeves Lehmann. Mr. Lumet’s formidable list of credits includes The Verdict; Prince of the City; Dog Day Afternoon; Serpico; Fail-Safe; 12 Angry Men; and many more. The event is February 26 at 3:15pm, SVA Amphitheater, 209 East 23 Street, 3rd floor. All students must have a valid SVA I.D. to be admitted into the building.
  • Site Specific Installations from Christopher Dunbrack and Kota Nakamura (MFA Fine Arts). February 28 – March 20; Reception: March 5, 5 – 7pm; Westside Gallery, 141 West 21 Street.

  • Digital Installations. Students from the BFA Fine Arts Department present an exhibition of work that includes large-scale video installations and digital collage. The exhibition is curated by faculty members Nancy Dwyer and Frank Gillette. February 13 – March 1, Visual Arts Gallery in SoHo, 137 Wooster Street; Reception: February 18, 5 – 7pm.
  • Your Past is My Present. Students from the BFA Photography Department present an exhibition of photography highlighting the artists’ perceptions of isolation. The exhibition is curated by department chair Stephen Frailey. February 13 – March 1, Visual Arts Gallery, 137 Wooster Street; Reception: February 18, 5 – 7pm.
  • Platon, the celebrated portrait, fashion, and documentary photographer, will present his work at SVA on February 20. To learn more about Platon, visit www.platonphoto.com. The presentation, sponsored by the Camera Club of New York and the Photography Department, is at 6:30pm at the Amphitheater, 209 East 23 Street (3rd fl.).   • Actor Aidan Quinn Visits SVA. The Film, Video and Animation Department invites the SVA community to attend a Q&A with actor Aidan Quinn. His films include: Desperately Seeking Susan, Evelyn, Music of the Heart, Michael Collins, Looking for Richard, Avalon, and many more. February 20, 3:30pm, at the SVA Amphitheater, 209 East 23 Street, 3rd floor.
