Digital Dominance

January 31, 2003

The New York Digital Salon (NYDS) is preparing for a major tenth anniversary celebration this spring. To support their efforts, the National Endowment for the Arts has just given NYDS a $30,000 grant in the Creativity/Visual Arts category. This award will help support the anniversary celebration, which features a number of exciting activities this spring, including: Vectors: Digital Art of Our Time, an exhibition and series of performances and public events presented by the World Financial Center Arts and Events Program at their Courtyard Gallery and Winter Garden (April 22 – May 25); and the International Digital Art and Culture Symposium, co-hosted by the Museum of Modern Art, supported by the Rockefeller Foundation, and held at the MoMA Gramercy Theater (April). NYDS has also received a grant from the New York State Council on the Arts, and primary sponsorship from the School of Visual Arts. Updates on NYDS anniversary activities will be in future issues of Visual Arts Briefs.
