Re-Animator: Capturing the Mystique Online

September 20, 2002

For the first time in animation history the public can watch an entire animated feature being drawn before their eyes. As of September 16, popular animator Bill Plympton (Media Studies, 1969) began drawing his new animated feature, HAIR HIGH, live on the internet. From 10am to 6pm every day, an “ani-cam” (animation camera) is positioned over Mr. Plympton’s shoulder and captures his every move. This extraordinary event is sponsored by Animators Unite, Inc. (www.animatorsunite.com). This online community is run by current SVA animation student, Robert Kohr. To watch history in the making, visit www.hairhigh.com.
