Students and alumni from SVA’s 3D design program are now featured in an exhibition at the Art Director’s Club, Moonlighting: The MTV Moonman Takes on All New Roles. In the show, curated by 3D design program chair Kevin O’Callaghan, the MTV Video Music Awards statuette known as the Moonman has been creatively re-invented. The space is filled with dozens of Moonmen fashioned into more than 50 pieces–surreal household objects such as a waffle maker, a chandelier, a blender, and more. The exhibition runs through September 27 (10am – 6pm daily). There will be a reception September 17 from 6:00 – 8:30pm. It’s free and open to the public. The Art Directors Club is located at 106 West 29 Street.
