Life in the City

May 2, 2002

Humanities and Sciences instructor Joan Berman has one of her photographs displayed at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in the current exhibition, Life in the City, which is on view through May 21. Much of the work in the show is by New Yorkers and expresses their personal connection to the city with all its vitality, grit, and beauty. The exhibition also includes monitors that display a continuous stream of the thousands of photographs collected by the remarkable Here Is New York project. Ms. Berman will also be exhibiting a collage in the Heckscher Museum of Art in Huntington, New York in an exhibition entitled Obsession, on view from May 18 – June 16. A reception will be held at the museum at 2 Prime Avenue in Huntington on May 18 from 6 – 8pm.
